Help Shape our Youth Development Program

CCAH is in the planning stages of redeveloping their Youth Development Program. As a critical planning step, we need to identify the needs and interest of the program’s beneficiaries and believe your perspective will help shape the program’s design.

We are seeking individuals to participate in an in-person/virtual focus group. It will be a group of approximately 25 individuals providing insight to help us design the new program. The purpose of the focus group is to bring a diverse perspective to the revised Youth Development Program. The findings from the consultation will inform the refinement of the program.

We are looking for participation from the following groups:

Youth ages 14 – 25
Educators
Parents/Guardians
Local Social Services

Summer Day Camp 2026

CCAH is excited to welcome new and returning campers to our Summer Day Camp Program! Our camp provides a fun, engaging, and supportive environment for BIPOC youth, where children participate in arts and crafts, cooperative games, and interactive learning activities through a culturally meaningful lens. Campers have the opportunity to explore culture, build friendships, and grow in confidence while being surrounded by a community where they feel seen and supported.

Camp Dates: July 6 to August 21, 2026 (7 weeks). Each week will feature activities connected to CCAH’s four pillars:

July 6-10: Education Week
July 13-17: Education Week
July 20-24: Culture Week
July 27-31: Harmony Week
August 4-7: Culture Week (NO CAMP AUGUST 3)
August 10-14: Harmony Week
August 17-21: Community Week

Camp Groups and Fees

Junior Camp Group: Ages 6-8 (as of January 1, 2026), $40 per week
Senior Camp Group: Ages 9-11 (as of January 1, 2026), $55 per week

Please note that submitting the registration form does not guarantee a spot in camp. Spaces are limited and fill quickly. Families will be notified by email in early April if their camper has been offered a spot. This year, priority will be given to families who are able to commit to all 7 weeks of camp.

Leader In Training (LIT) Program 2026

CCAH is excited to welcome new and returning participants to our Leaders-in-Training (LIT) Program! This program provides a dynamic and supportive environment for Black-identifying youth ages 12–16 to build leadership skills, gain hands-on experience, and explore their identity through culturally meaningful activities. Participants will engage in interactive workshops, creative projects, and real-world learning while developing confidence, teamwork, and a sense of belonging within a community that celebrates diverse cultures.

Program Dates: July 8 to August 21, 2026 (approximately 6.5 weeks). Each week will focus on key areas of leadership and personal development:

July 8-10: Camp Training & Leadership Foundations
July 13-17: Leadership, Career Mapping & Entrepreneurship
July 20-24: Financial Literacy & Civic Engagement
July 27-31: Arts, Digital Empowerment & Content Creation
August 4-7: Wellness & Cultural Exploration (NO PROGRAMMING AUGUST 3)
August 10-14: Camp Leadership Practicum & Community Engagement
August 17-21: Camp Leadership Practicum & Capstone Activities

Program Structure and Fee

Ages 12-16 (as of January 1, 2026), $65 for the full program

Sunday, January 12 - Steelpan & Parang Program

The steelpan program is cross-generational which invites both youth and seniors to learn the art of steelpan. Improve concentration and memory while socializing and having fun! Class are 1 hour for 10 sessions on Sundays. Class times are 1:00-2:00 pm OR 2:00-3:00 pm. Class is ideal for ages 8 years+.

Parang is a popular folk music which originated in Trinidad and Tobago and is practiced throughout the Caribbean. Our classes give participants the opportunity to learn to play the ukulele, cuatro, guitar or selection of percussion instruments. Classes are 2 hours for 6 sessions on Sundays. Class times are 1:00-3:00 pm. Class is ideal for ages 15 years+.

Emancipation Day Celebrations 2023. Emancipation Day 2023 was celebrated with our Milton and Oakville picnic events as well as our emancipation day proclamation and official launch of the CCAH community and harmony garden.
